PATRICIA VILLEGAS
PSYCHOLOGY AND YOGA
Patanjali defined yoga in his book "Yoga Sutras" as cessation of the movements of consciousness. Yoga is an ancient science that seeks to understand the mind and its mechanisms to control it and finally transcend it to merge with your true being, the spiritual being.
I began by studying Psychology, a young science that, like yoga, seeks to understand the mind and master certain techniques that allow us to model it, in order to achieve greater happiness and well-being.
Along the way I trained as a Hatha yoga teacher at Sivananda Yoga Madurai School in India and as a teacher at Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, at Ashtanga yoga School Mysore, as well as being a student of Saraswati, daughter of Pattabhi Jois, the father of this tradition.
It was in Mysore, India that I also found another of my great vocations, Tibetan Buddhism. Since 2015 I attend teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and other great teachers on philosophical and psychological topics, developing and practicing traditional meditation techniques.
